Expression of Interest for the Hostels at Lekidi Football Centre.

The Botswana Football Association (BFA), a duly registered organization under the Registrar of Society Act wishes to invite expression of interest from wholly owned citizen companies, consortiums or individual Batswana for the refurbishment of facilities situated at the Lekidi Football Centre, behind the National stadium. The facilities comprises of the following:

  1. Meeting room;
  2. kitchen and dining area;
  3. hostel block comprising of twenty (20) rooms with separate showers, laundry and common dining area;
  4. double-storey hostel block comprising of six (16) self-contained rooms with one common dining area;

SUBMISSIONS

In order to qualify for consideration, the following should be submitted:

  1. A statement of understanding the EOI requirements
  2. Ability and capacity to undertake the project
  3. Certificate of Incorporation (certified copy)
  4. Company profile
  5. Share Certificates (certified copy)
  6. Tax clearance certificate (certified copy)
  7. PPADB Certificate (certified copy)
  8. Contact details

Interested parties are required to present a copy of their Expression of interest document to:

Details of Mode of Delivery, Date and Time

The Expression of Interest documents must be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked;

and addressed to the CEO, BFA not later than 16.30 hours on 17th the December 2020.

Note: There will be a compulsory site visit on the 11th December 2020 starting at 0900 to 1530 hours.

BOTSWANA U-20 WOMEN EXIT WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS WITH PRIDE AFTER HOME VICTORY

The Botswana U-20 Women’s National Team bowed out of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers 2026 on a positive note after securing a 1–0 victory over Cameroon U-20 Women’s National Team this past weekend, despite a 5–1 aggregate defeat.

Having suffered a heavy 5–0 loss in the first leg played on 7 February 2026 at Olembe Stadium in Cameroon, the Young Mares showed resilience and determination in the return leg at Obed Itani Chilume Stadium.

Forward Mbapeua Hangara scored the decisive goal in the second half, giving Botswana a deserved win in front of their home supporters and demonstrating the team’s fighting spirit until the final whistle.

Head coach Tapaphiwa Tracey Gaebolae expressed pride in her players performance and attitude, emphasizing the positive response after the first-leg setback.

“We are very proud of the girls. Even though we didn’t get the result we wanted in Cameroon, we came here with a positive mindset. The message to the team was that we needed to score more goals, stay organized, and believe in ourselves and I think the players responded very well.” Coach Gaebolae alluded at the post match Technical press conference.

Despite exiting the competition, the Young Mares leave the qualifiers with valuable international experience and renewed confidence, highlighting the growth and potential of women’s football in Botswana.
