CAF B LICENCE COACHING COURSE – ADVERTISEMENT

BOTSWANA FOOTBALL ASOCIATION INVITES QUALIFIED COACHES TO APPLY FOR CAF B LICENSE TO BE HELD FROM 17TH MARCH TO SEPTEMBER 23RD 2024 IN THREE MODULES/PHASES.

During the breaks between phases, coaches are expected to keeplog-books of their internship work to be submitted a week prior to the next phase, failure to do so, the candidate shall not continue with the course.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:  CAF C โ€“ licence coaches who are active and have been participating for a minimumof 1 full season.
COMPETANCIES: THE COACH MUST BE:
 
1. Able to read & write English language
2. Computer literate
3. Able to play football or demostrate football skills
4. Provide a medical certificate and demostrating fitness to take part in physical activities.
 
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Certified copies of valid national identity(omang)
2. Certified copy of caf c licence certificate
3. Carriculum vitae with postal address, emails, contact # country of birth & town, country of residence, region of residence and gender.
4. Soft copy of passport size photo.
 
ASSESSMENT:
There shall be-
1. Three theory papers on the theory of football & theory of training.
2. Laws of the game
3. Contineous assessment mark (internship work + practical assessment during the course or phases.
4. Practical assessment at the end of the course.
 
 COURSE FEES: 
1. LOCAL COACHES:      BWP 9000.00
                2. FOREIGN COACHES: BWP 15000.00

NB: the fees do not cover transport and accommodation, participants are expected to arrange for themselves.

BOTSWANA U-20 WOMEN EXIT WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS WITH PRIDE AFTER HOME VICTORY

The Botswana U-20 Womenโ€™s National Team bowed out of the FIFA U-20 Womenโ€™s World Cup Qualifiers 2026 on a positive note after securing a 1โ€“0 victory over Cameroon U-20 Womenโ€™s National Team this past weekend, despite a 5โ€“1 aggregate defeat.

Having suffered a heavy 5โ€“0 loss in the first leg played on 7 February 2026 at Olembe Stadium in Cameroon, the Young Mares showed resilience and determination in the return leg at Obed Itani Chilume Stadium.

Forward Mbapeua Hangara scored the decisive goal in the second half, giving Botswana a deserved win in front of their home supporters and demonstrating the teamโ€™s fighting spirit until the final whistle.

Head coach Tapaphiwa Tracey Gaebolae expressed pride in her players performance and attitude, emphasizing the positive response after the first-leg setback.

โ€œWe are very proud of the girls. Even though we didnโ€™t get the result we wanted in Cameroon, we came here with a positive mindset. The message to the team was that we needed to score more goals, stay organized, and believe in ourselves and I think the players responded very well.โ€ Coach Gaebolae alluded at the post match Technical press conference.

Despite exiting the competition, the Young Mares leave the qualifiers with valuable international experience and renewed confidence, highlighting the growth and potential of womenโ€™s football in Botswana.
