The Mares Nomiocated for 41st Botswana Sports Awards

The Botswana Senior National Women’s National team (The Mares) have been nominated for the 41st Botswana Sports Awards. The glamorous and most sough-after national sporting event will be held on 7th May 2022.

When speaking at the Nominees launch last night at Fairgrounds Holdings, the BNSC Board Chairperson Mr. Marumo Morule “With exactly twenty-five (25) days to the 41st edition of the Botswana Sport Awards, I cannot help but be excited at the opportunity to present to you the nominees for the Botswana Sports Awards that covers the period 2020 and 2021”

He further said that “due to the limited sport activity in the said period, the 41st Edition of the awards will be different in two ways:
Firstly, it will combine 2020 & 2021 activities; and secondly, There is a reduced number of categories, of course noting that some new categories have been introduced to particularly respond to the era we have just come from”

The Mares have in the period stated qualified for their maiden appearance at the 2022 AWCON as the main highlight to be staged in Morocco.

Responding to the nomination Coach Gaoletlhoo Nkutlwisang highlighted that the nomination was a welcome motivation as the team will use it to fly the Botswana flag high at the upcoming AWCON.
