Zebras dump Bafana Bafana out of COSAFA Cup

The Senior National team, the Zebras, on Sunday dumped South African (Bafana Bafana) 5-4 on penalties, following a 2-all draw in regulation time. Botswana proceed to the semifinals where they will face Lesotho on Wednesday 5th June at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

The Zebras gaffer Mogomotsi Mpote highlited that his boys showed the desire to win the game. He said they responded well to his tactics even after going down and staging a second half come back.

Mpote and his charges will now shift focus the Semifinal where they face Lesotho at the iconic Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Botswana’s Senior Women’s National Team, The Mares, departed for South Africa yesterday, May 26, 2025, where they are set to compete in a Three Nations Tournament against powerhouse teams South Africa and Zambia.

 

This international friendly series marks a crucial step in The Mares’ Road to Morocco, as all three nations intensify their preparations for the upcoming 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
