The Botswana Football association in conjunction with British Council will be holding yet another Premier Skills sports festival at the Bontleng Park (Pula Sports Development arena) in Gaborone. The festival will be held on the 25 November, 2017 from 0800 to 1100.
This time around, the sports festival will be held as part of the 2017 Child Protection Awareness Week as well as to commemorate the Universal Children’s Day (20 November). The sports festival will therefore be a collaborative initiative between the British Council and UNICEF.
The focus of the festival is to engage children and empower them to deal with the challenges of substance abuse currently bedevilling the country. Premier Skills is a programme that uses sports for life skills development and has a suite of products that allow for cross curricular learning outcomes.
The sports festival will be facilitated by community coach educators trained through a collaborative programme between the British Council and the Botswana Football Association.
