Their Generation Must Step Up – Mpote

Zebras caretaker coach Mogomotsi Mpote says the class of 2013 under 17 players who qualified for the age group African championships almost 6 years ago are ready to take on the responsibility of the National team, Mpote says the selection he made was guided by the development policy of the Association and how this group of players has progressed has made him believe if their given a chance to develop further they can deliver results.

The Former Township Rollers coach said he was excited to coach a group that has a chance to bring back the glory and hoping that they can be kept together and in turn qualify for Afcon in 2021.

Botswana will face Angola on Friday 22nd March 2019 at the Francistown sports complex even though the campaign is all but done as Botswana cannot qualify, the coach said he was selecting a team that has to compete in the upcoming CHAN qualifications. This game will be a preparation for that. Mpote believes the boys want to prove a point to Angola who the Zebras can face if they eliminate Seychelles in the first round of the Chan qualifying games.

The 23-man selected squad will report to camp on Sunday 17th March prepare for the clash against Angola in Francistown. Below are the 23 men
