TAFIC and Sharps promoted

BFA would like to extend its warmest congratulations to TAFIC and Sharps Shooting Stars football clubs after winning the Debswana First Division North and South respectively. “The two teams deserve their promotion to the Premier League as they have showed their intent right from the start,” said BFA PRO Mr Tumo Mpatane.

“And they outplayed their peers. TAFIC’s return is special for the people in the north and it gives balance to the distribution of the beautiful game across the country. A long lost giant of the region is back to the elite league,” continued Mr Mpatane.

Mr Mpatane said Sharps brings a very exciting team to the elite league. Mr Mpatane, who is good friend to Sharps coach Pio Paul, thinks they will compete fairly well in the top league because he understand the ambition of the coach and the team.

Lastly he said it is important to understand that football help boost the economy of the country. And he know the people of Francistown including the local businesses are hoping the same, for a much needed boost to the economy with the return of Machimenyenga.

BFA to Assemble Assessment Camp

The head coach of the senior national team “The Zebras”, Didier Gomez Da Rosa, is set to assemble an assessment camp for the U22 national team from April 29 to May 1, 2024, which will take place at Lekidi Football Centre.
 
The purpose of the team is to identify potential players who will build a graduate Senior Men’s National Team besides the Olympic Under-23 Team.
