Government to improve sporting infrastructure – SONA2018

His Excellency, President Mokgweetsi Masisi says the Government will improve sporting infrastructure as part of the grassroots sports development programme. Masisi was speaking during the State of the Nation Address (SONA) this afternoon.

“This financial year we allocated a budget of Fifty Million Pula (P50 million) for constructing ten (10) Community Sports Facilities, or Mini Stadia, around the country,” said Masisi.

These mini stadia are basic sports facilities for youth recreation.  They will consist of a boundary wall, an artificial turf soccer pitch and changing rooms with ablution facilities. The benefitting villages are  Tonota, Mmadinare, Bobonong, Tutume, Kasane, Good Hope, Kanye, Rakops, Tsabong and Moshupa.

BFA to Assemble Assessment Camp

The head coach of the senior national team “The Zebras”, Didier Gomez Da Rosa, is set to assemble an assessment camp for the U22 national team from April 29 to May 1, 2024, which will take place at Lekidi Football Centre.
 
The purpose of the team is to identify potential players who will build a graduate Senior Men’s National Team besides the Olympic Under-23 Team.
