According to a communication from CAF, a set of 4 Batswana referees has been appointed to officiate at the upcoming CAF Champions League contest between ELGECO PLUS the host and Cameroonian football club P.W.D DE BAMENDA at Antananarivo โ Stade Kianja Barea Stadium in Antananarivo, Madagascar on the 18th September 2022.
Tirelo Mositwane will handle this game as the center referee with his fellow countrymen Gaselame Tilolo Molefe and Mogomotsi Morakile as first assistant and second Assistant Referees respectively while Tshepo Mokani Gobagoba will be fourth official.
Speaking in interview with BFA referees manager, Phodiso Jonty Rasetsoga, explained that these kind of appointments of our local referees to international levels means a lot to the association, the referees committee and the entire football fraternity in Botswana.
Rasetsoga went on to say that this appointment helps our referees prepare for the start of the league by officiating games in good shape.
“At the international level, they benefit from having assessors, instructors, CAF, COSAFA and FIFA as they track their performance and those who do well have the opportunity to advance to top continental and regional levels,” Rasetsoga said.
