Former Arsenal coach Wenger graces CAF EXCO meeting

KIGALI, RWANDA – Botswana Football Association (BFA) President and CAF EXCO member, Maclean Letshwiti is currently in Kigali, Rwanda where he attended the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Executive Committee meeting held at Serena Hotel on Saturday.
 
The EXCO meeting was chaired by CAF President, Dr. Patrice Motsepe. Also present, among other distinguished guests was FIFA President, Gianni Infantino and former Arsenal coach, Arsene Wenger, who currently serves as the world football body FIFA Chief of Global Football Development.
 
The main items on the Agenda related to the implementation of the Pan-African Schools Football Championship, the CAF/FIFA Refereeing Agreement and the FIFA-CAF USD 1 billion Infrastructure Development project. Amongst some of the matters discussed included the 2022-2024 competitions calendar and the challenges relating to the pre-match Covid19 testing.
Prior to the EXCO meeting, the CAF President held several meetings including with the six CAF Zonal Unions Presidents (CECAFA, COSAFA, UNAF, UNIFFAC, WAFU A and WAFU B.

BFA to Assemble Assessment Camp

The head coach of the senior national team “The Zebras”, Didier Gomez Da Rosa, is set to assemble an assessment camp for the U22 national team from April 29 to May 1, 2024, which will take place at Lekidi Football Centre.
 
The purpose of the team is to identify potential players who will build a graduate Senior Men’s National Team besides the Olympic Under-23 Team.
