The Project Time For Change

Botswana Football Association (BFA) has commissioned a P20 million investment in sustainable commercial projects and human resource development.

The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the BFA has resolved to invest in infrastructure and other diverse commercial instruments that will guarantee long term return on investment.

The Project Time for Change is not only geared at financial health but is also centred on up-skilling football administrators in the regions in key areas of business acumen, commercialisation, financial management, corporate governance, risk management and sponsorship management.

This is a capacity building programme for leadership in regions to ensure that football administrators at all levels possess requisite skills to manage football in a professional and sustainable manner.

The goal of the project is to ensure adherence to corporate governance protocols which will in turn help in building a positive image of football in Botswana. The Board of BFA believes that good governance is critical in creating a professional environment that is conducive to attract sponsorship.

The Project Time For Change which is supported by FIFA will be facilitated by the experienced former FIFA Development Officer For Eastern and Southern Africa Ashford Mamelodi who will create regional Centers for Development, identify skilled people to work in areas of football administration and technical department in order to decentralise trained and skilled human resources across the country.
