Botswana voted for United bid

Botswana Football Association representing Botswana, President MacLean Letshwiti has revealed Botswana’s vote went to the United block (the USA, Canada and Mexico).

Letshwiti highlighted that this wasn’t an easy decision but say it was made comfortable by the consultation that he made with football structures as well as with government stakeholders. The President highlighted that this is not a vote that can destroy any relationship as it was made towards the benefits of world football as a whole. 11 other African countries voted for the United block: Benin, Cape Verde, Guinea, Lesotho, Liberia, Namibia, Mozambique, Sierra Leone, South Africa and Zimbabwe.

Botswana Football Association wishes to congratulate the Block and wish them well in preparing for the 2026 world cup.

BFA to Assemble Assessment Camp

The head coach of the senior national team “The Zebras”, Didier Gomez Da Rosa, is set to assemble an assessment camp for the U22 national team from April 29 to May 1, 2024, which will take place at Lekidi Football Centre.
 
The purpose of the team is to identify potential players who will build a graduate Senior Men’s National Team besides the Olympic Under-23 Team.
