This morning the BFA through the department of Women football held a Grassroots Festival in Shakawe under the Nhabe Region.
 
In attendance was the BFA President Mr Maclean Letshwiti, Women Rep in the National Executive Committee Ms Lobito Ncube, the BFA CEO Mr Mfolo Mfolo, the Chairperson of the National Women Football committee Ms Keeng Mosinyi, the BFA Head of women football Ms Tsholofelo Sethoko, the Chairperson of the Nhabe Regional Football Association Mr Sebele and the brand ambassador of Grassroots programmes who is also the Vice Captain of the Women Senior National team The Mares Ms Nondi Mahlasela amongst others.
 
Grassroots and player development is a pillar under the strategies that the Women football department came up with that are also in line with the FIFA women’s development programme. It focuses in depth on participation and teaching basic techniques to the girl child to promote the womenโ€™s game, giving the girls an opportunity to play, have fun and learn life skills through football at a young age. This pillar also helps in improving results in National under 17 and 20 teams as the children grow up with the correct skills.
 
The BFA President gave a few words as to encourage the children, he told them that they are the future and they should know that football is for all.
 
When addressing the media, the Head of women Football Ms Sethoko brought to light that they do not intend on doing this festivals then neglect the centres
“the whole of the past week we had our instructors in Shakawe training the coaches so that they teach the children correct skills even in our absence”, she explained.

BFA to Assemble Assessment Camp

The head coach of the senior national team โ€œThe Zebrasโ€, Didier Gomez Da Rosa, is set to assemble an assessment camp for the U22 national team from April 29 to May 1, 2024, which will take place at Lekidi Football Centre.
 
The purpose of the team is to identify potential players who will build a graduate Senior Men’s National Team besides the Olympic Under-23 Team.
