Yesterday morning (08/11/22), the Minister of Youth, Gender, Sports and Culture, Hon Tumiso Rakgare, paid a courtesy call to Debswana Managing Director Andrew Maatla Motsumi and his team.

The entourage that accompanied the Minister included among them the Chairman of the Botswana National Sports Commission (BNSC), Mr. Marumo Morule, the President of the Botswana Football Association (BFA), Mr. Maclean Letshwiti, the Chairman of the Botswana Football League, Mr. Nicholas Zakhem, other ministry officials and the BFA secretariat.

The main objective of this visit was to thank and acknowledge DEBSWANA Managing Director for the tremendous support given to the various sporting codes in Botswana.

Debswana has reached out to many sports associations and this visit was to show that their help has not gone unnoticed.

The BFA is looking forward to more partnerships with DEBSWANA.

CAF Champions League Preliminary Second Round – Second Legs

The 2023/24 Africa’s premier club competition, the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and CAF Confederations Cup preliminary rounds campaign for our teams will conclude on the 29th of September 2023. Both teams, Jwaneng Galaxy which is embarking on CAF Champions League, and the CAF Confederations Cup contenders Gaborone United, will travel to South Africa hoping to reach the group stages after their second leg last games on the 29th of September.

The Reds take on Supersport United on Friday 29th September at the New Polokwane Stadium. The Liberian midfielder, Sheikh Sesayz scores moments before the last whistle after coming on as a substitute to level up the scoreboard. Kickoff is scheduled for 1900hrs.

Ramoreboli’s team out-shot Orlando Pirates 1 – 0 on Sunday afternoon to earn a slim supremacy over the Buccaneers, with Mpolokang assist to slip the Zimbabwean Attacking – Right Winger in on goal. Daniel Msendami struck a cracker just in the first 23 minutes of the 90 minutes to seal the goals of the day. The second leg is coming up on the 29th of September at Orlando Stadium, South Africa.
