Botswana escaped defeat as it pulled level with Eswatini in the 78th minute as Thero Setsile netted a late equalizer from penalty spot as The Zebras snatched a 2-2 draw against KINGS’ SHIELD at Orlando Stadium this afternoon (Sunday, 31 July 2022).

Following a 0-0 draw in the first leg at Obed Itani Chilume Stadium, Francistown the results means Botswana progresses to the next stage with away goal rule.

 The Kings Shield were hoping to put the Zebras to the sword in the return fixture at Orlando Stadium Soweto, South Africa but unfortunately failed to fulfil their wishes as strikes from Godfrey Tauyatswala  and Thero Setsile were enough to send the mighty Zebras through to the next  round.

Botswana will face Madagascar in the next match of the CHAN 2023 Southern Zone Qualifiers campaign in August 2022.
