Botswana among other 5 remaining teams in the Hollywood Bets COSAFA Cup being South Africa, Senegal, Namibia, Mozambique and Zambia engaged in a corporate social responsibility event that was held in Moses Mabhida Stadium as part of COSAFA Madiba Day activity today (15th July 2022)

The event was themed β€œJerusalema Dance” where both teams challenged each other in Jerusalema dance challenge.
Zebras scooped position 2 after Zambia who won themselves a 3 course dinner meal to be sponsored by COSAFA on Sunday (17, July 2022).

In conclusion, there was a handover of 100 mattresses and blankets to Durban flood victims which received by Ntokozo Sikhakhane Foundation to donate to the relevant affected victims within the community.

The Mares In SAΒ For 3Β Nations Tournament

Botswana’s Senior Women’s National Team, The Mares, departed for South Africa yesterday, May 26, 2025, where they are set to compete in a Three Nations Tournament against powerhouse teams South Africa and Zambia.

 

This international friendly series marks a crucial step in The Mares’ Road to Morocco, as all three nations intensify their preparations for the upcoming 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

 

The Three Nations Tournament is not only about high-level football but also a celebration of the shared commitment to the growth and recognition of women’s football on the continent.

 

 

At today’s official press conference, representatives from all three teamsβ€”Botswana, South Africa, and Zambiaβ€”expressed mutual respect and a unified vision for elevating the women’s game. With three nations, three dedicated coaching teams, and one shared passion, the tournament promises to deliver memorable moments on and off the pitch.
