Botswana Senior national football team “The Mares” have safely arrived in Morocco ahead of TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco 2022 from the 2^nd to the 23rd July 2022.

The provisional 24 women squad and officials left for Casablanca, Morocco on the 19^th June 2022.

The Mares is under the tutelage of Head Coach Gaolethoo Nkutlwisang. The Mares will set up their last preparations camp in the host country. The team is expected to play three (3) international friendlies ahead of the tournament.

Botswana will take on defending champions Nigeria alongside south Africa and Burundi in group C.

Botswana is set to play their opening game of the TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco on the 4th July against Burundi.

BOTSWANA FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION GENERAL SECRETARY COMPLETES FIFA EXECUTIVE PROGRAMME IN ANTI DOPING

Botswana Football Association General Secretary Mr. Mfolo Edwin Mfolo successfully completed FIFA Executive Programme in Anti Doping. The programme was made up of 3 modules, the first module started on 23 -25 March in Zurich, Switzerland, the second module took place in Paris, France on the 13 – 15 April and the last module of the course ended last week from the 25- 27 of May.
