The Botswana Senior Women’s National Team β€œThe Maresβ€˜β€™, plunged into Debswana sponsored training Camps. They plugged into a camp at Orapa on the 16 May and today (30th May2022) they departed to Jwaneng as part of their preparations for the Women Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) scheduled for the 2nd July 2022 to 23rd July 2022 in Morocco.
The training camp in Orapa and Jwaneng comes after Debswana Orapa Mine pledged to sponsor the team’s WAFCON preparations campaign.
The Mares are paired Group C with Nigeria, South Africa and Burundi. Botswana will play their first match against Burundi at Prince Heritier Moulay El Hassan Stadium on the 7th July 2022 at (2100hrs CAT).

Tholakele Made It to BNSC Sportswoman of the Year Nominees

The nominees for the category of the sportswoman of the year at the 43rd Botswana National Sports Commission (BNSC) have been unveiled.
 
The reigning CAF Women Champions Golden Boot and Vunani Annual Botswana Women Sports Awards winner Refilwe Tholakele is up for yet another accolade, this time at The 43rd Botswana National Sports Commission (BNSC) Awards after the sports commission announced a list of nominees on Thursday.
 
The BNSC announced that, in addition to Tholakele, two other athletes have been nominated for the award: track and field athlete Oratile Rose Nowe and karateka Lesego Masimola
 
The winner will be announced on May 18,2024 at Royal Aria Convention Centre
