BFA & BPL to discuss transformation of local football

Botswana Football Association National Executive committee and the Botswana Premier League teams’ leadership will this weekend hold a seminar that will be geared towards assisting Botswana football towards professionalism and a smooth transformation.

Transformation of the BPL into a Legal entity, has been seen as the next milestone local football needs to take.

The seminar will be facilitated by FIFA consultant Mr Ashford Mamelodi and Mr Derek Blanckensee. The seminar will take place on Saturday 15th February 2020.

The Zebras Set To Kick Off Their Four Nations Madagascar Tournament

The Botswana senior men’s national team, “The Zebras”, will take part in the upcoming international four-nation friendly tournament in Madagascar during the FIFA window in March 2024.

This four-nation tournament is featuring the host Madagascar, Burundi, Botswana and Rwanda and will begin on March 22 and end on March 25, 2024, with all matches to be played in Antananarivo, Madagascar.

The team will report to the training camp for an initial training session on Thursday, March 14, 2024, before departing for Antananarivo on Monday, March 18, 2024.

These matches hold significant importance as they serve as crucial preparation for The Zebras’ imminent return to 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers assignments against Uganda and Somalia scheduled for June mid this year.

Botswana is in group G alongside Algeria, Guinea, Uganda, Mozambique, and Somalia.
