Zebras’ AFCON Qualifier preparations ongoing

Preparation for the upcoming AFCON 2017 qualification against Mauritania reached its peak today, with a practice match against DR Congo. The game went to halftime goalless. DR Congo managed to find the net twice in second half. The Zebras coach wasn’t impressed with the defence.

“Today our defence made senseless mistakes, this should not happen,” said coach Peter James’ Butler or PJB as he is commonly known.

But the were some positives to pick from the match.

“I am proud of the game plan and how the boys pressed. I am not worried because our team will be stronger on Saturday. This was an excellent camping trip, now we can go home to go all out for the 3 points, ” continued PJB.

Botswana will play Mauritania on the 10 Jun 2017, 1600 hrs at Francistwon Sports Complex

Intermediate Referees Course Concludes Today

GABORONE: Botswana Football Association (BFA) through its technical department (Referees Department) held an Intermediate Referees Course closing ceremony. The course commenced on the 18th of March and ended today (22 March 2024).

A total of 37 participants from 9 regions took part in the course. The aim of the course is to bring regional referees up to the national level (first division).

The course was specifically organized for match officials from the southern and western blocks and was led by two local instructors, technical instructor Dintwa Dintwa and physical instructor Arone Masilo.

Congratulations to all the referees who successfully completed the Course!  It’s great to see the dedication and passion for football officiating in Botswana.
